Assistive tech specialist secures prizes from two separate industry awards for telecare innovation
Tunstall Healthcare has scooped two industry awards, having been honoured at both this year’s Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Awards and Care Home Awards.
Commending work that contributes towards promoting the physical and mental welfare of those in need of support, the Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Awards 2020 also shines a spotlight on innovation within the healthcare industry.
At the ceremony, the telecare-specialist won the ‘Leading Innovators in Assisted Living Technology 2020’ accolade.
Tunstall also secured the ‘Best Non-Clinical Equipment, Product or Service Supplier’ prize at the Care Home Awards 2020 for its nurse call system, Tunstall Carecom.
Launched at the end of 2019, the system already supports over 60,000 care home residents across Europe, using wireless and digital technology to moves beyond the traditional, fixed call-points that have been commonplace in care settings
Using receivers placed around a care facility, with ‘locatability’ beacons placed at strategic locations which interact with smart pendants worn by residents, the Carecom system enables users to raise alarm calls via their pendants. The pendants also allow for location reporting, geofencing and an ability to cancel alarm calls at source by carers.
Zillah Moore, UK & Ireland Marketing Director at Tunstall Healthcare, said: “To be recognised as leading innovators in the assisted living space is a huge honour for our team who have worked tirelessly to monitor and improve the lives of vulnerable people, including individuals living in care homes.
“We’re equally delighted with the accolade for the Tunstall Carecom product from the Care Home Awards. Products like Carecom are pivotal for the future of healthcare as it moves away from the traditional one-size-fits-all approach and offers a modular and customisable solution, enabling nursing care homes and carers to manage challenges and deliver effective, high quality and person-centred care.”
Tunstall has also been shortlisted in the Innovation in Care and Public Private Partnership categories in the LaingBuisson Awards, and the Care Sector Supplier Awards which will both be held in November.
