Schuchmann UK new product advisor to bring paediatric ranges to Scotland for first time
Children’s’ rehabilitation equipment specialist Schuchmann UK has bolstered its manufacturing and sales capability with a new cutting machine and team member.
A second-generation, family-owned business based in Germany, the company manufactures and supplies products for children with special needs.
At the start of 2017, the company’s UK subsidiary, Schuchmann UK, started trading as a sales and distribution business with the warehouse and offices based in Peterborough.
Over the past three years, the company has successfully established the brand across the UK and with healthcare professionals.
Aiming to continue the company’s growth, it has appointed Bryn Jones as its product advisor in Scotland – the first time it has had a sales presence in the region.
With a background in health and beauty sales, Bryn will now introduce Schuchmann’s ranges to families and therapists throughout Scotland while also developing his understanding, knowledge and skills in the support of children and their individual requirements, says the company.
The appointment comes as the company recently installed a new CNC cutting machine in its sewing room facilities.
According to Schuchmann, the new machinery will enable the company to cut fabric, foam or special materials to precise, millimetre accuracy.
Capable of detecting the exact nature of the material it is cutting, the cutter will also facilitate easier individual cuts, special designs and series production.
“Even multi-layer fabrics are no problem,” commented Nadine Depenbrock, Garment Technician at Schuchmann.
The computer-controlled cutting system will also ensure the company is able to minimise wasted material, reducing costs and improving its environmental efficiency.
