NRS Healthcare in “recovery phase” after replacing technology infrastructure following cyber hack
Independent living aids manufacturer NRS Healthcare has confirmed that it has replaced its technology infrastructure with its websites expected to be reinstated “soon” after its services were disrupted by a cyber security incident three weeks ago.
An NRS spokesperson exclusively commented to THIIS: “NRS Healthcare is moving into recovery phase this week. Since the cyber security incident over Easter, we have made incredibly strong progress in a short period of time.
“Our technology infrastructure has been replaced, all our phone lines are operational, our service centres are all open, and stock ordering is reinstated.
“Our focus has been on continuing to work to minimise disruption for service users, commissioners and prescribers. The websites are in the roadmap for the next phase on the recovery journey and expected soon.”
On Good Friday (29 March) NRS Healthcare saw its phone lines, emails and website all affected by the cyber hack, with NRS service users turning to social media in the aftermath as they struggled to get in touch with the firm regarding the vital equipment they needed for their homes.
Headquartered in Nottingham, NRS Healthcare is a supplier of mobility equipment and disability aids and provider of associated services helping the elderly and disabled live independently in their own homes.
It has contracts to supply equipment on outsourced contracts for many local authorities such as Doncaster Council, Plymouth Council and West Sussex County Council.
