MOXSE WAVES wheelchair adapted towel in use

A new premium adapted hooded towel for wheelchair users has been launched by MOXSE – a new brand created by two Dorset-based entrepreneurs with a love for the outdoors and adventure.

Co-Founders Isla Marsh and Rosie Lees launched MOXSE during the coronavirus lockdown with a focus on providing sustainable and inclusive adventure gear that makes it easier for more people to embrace adventure sports.

Developing what they describe as the “world’s first-ever adapted hooded towel handmade in Dorset”, the pair’s new WAVES towel has been designed specifically for wheelchair users and created entirely out of organic cotton – including the threads and labels.

The new towel includes unique features aiming to deliver a combination of comfort and ease of use for those in wheelchairs, including a kangaroo pouch pocket on the chest for a safe place for users to store belongings, a wide neck to prevent the towel pressing on a user’s neck when seating, as well as a shorter back to make it easier to put on and tuck in.

Additionally, the wheelchair adapted towel boasts a distinctive design tailored around the hips and legs of those in wheelchairs, enabling it to be tucked around the legs and not get caught in the wheels.

According to the company, one of its adapted towel testers commented: “When I was first injured, I was frustrated at not being able to use normal towels properly so actually bought something similar but it wasn’t designed specifically for wheelchair users. I haven’t come across a towel specifically designed for us so this is a game-changer.”

The company confirmed at trade pricing is available on request, starting with a minimum order of five garments. MOXSE are also able to tailor the towels on request.
