George Hulbert, Sales Director at Yorkshire Care Equipment, said: “We’ve called Harrogate home for over 25 years and it’s wonderful news that many of our local customers are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

“However, after months of isolating at home we’re aware that more people are experiencing mobility problems. Getting out of the house to attend their vaccine appointment would be a challenge without support. That’s why we’ve made our wheelchair hire service free for these occasions.

“Anyone can reserve and collect a wheelchair to help someone attend their appointment. To protect our community and move closer to seeing loved ones again, it is crucial that the vaccine is accessible to those eligible. If we can remove any barriers, then we are more than happy to help.”

It is a free one-day hire service and after use wheelchairs must be returned on the same day to the Yorkshire Care Equipment showroom in Harrogate.

With protecting older people at the core of its services, Yorkshire Care Equipment recently launched Raizer M a device which assists vulnerable customers who fall get back on their feet.

As well as this, the company invested in 30,000 square feet of warehouse space in the midst of the coronavirus crisis last year, alongside increasing its manufacturing capacity and stock levels, to support care in the community and NHS Trusts’ discharge efforts.
