Winncare’s lifting cushion solutions to be introduced to US emergency medical supplies agencies
Winncare, a UK manufacturer of post-fall management solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with Bound Tree, a trusted provider of emergency medical supplies in the United States.
The collaboration will introduce Winncare’s lifting cushions designed to improve safety, reduce musculoskeletal injuries and enhance operational efficiency into emergency medical supplies (EMS) agencies across America.
The partnership focuses on offering EMS workers the latest in lifting cushion technology, including the Mangar ELK, Mangar Camel, and Mangar Eagle inflatable cushions.
These devices are specifically engineered to address the growing concern of musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries in the EMS field, which result from the physical demands of lifting and moving patients.
By reducing the physical strain placed on EMS workers, the cushions aim to lower the frequency of workplace injuries, decrease sick leave, and reduce associated costs related to workers’ compensation claims.
Each year, EMS agencies in the US experience a significant number of MSK-related injuries. These injuries not only affect the health and well-being of EMS professionals but also have substantial financial implications for agencies due to rising sickness costs and the need for replacements or overtime.
The introduction of the Mangar lifting cushions is a direct response to these challenges, designed to protect EMS personnel and ensure the highest level of patient care.

Manufactured in the UK, the Mangar ELK, Mangar Camel, and Mangar Eagle have become the standard in post-fall management across Europe and Australia.
The Mangar ELK was first adopted by Surrey Ambulance Service in 2006, and since then, it has been used by every NHS Ambulance Trust in the UK. The use of these lifting cushions has helped NHS Trusts save millions of pounds in sickness-related costs, all while improving the safety and efficiency in patient handling.
The official launch of the partnership took place at the Bound Tree Medical conference in Ohio this week, where representatives from both Winncare presented the lifting cushions and discussed their benefits.
As the creators of the first powered structured bath lift, Winncare has become known as specialists in post falls management, with 40 years of experience designing and manufacturing patient lifting equipment.
