Winncare launches ‘new generation’ patient ceiling lift designed to blend into home settings
Medical device manufacturer Winncare has released a new ‘all-in-one’ ceiling lift system which can be used as a fixed or portable hoist, and can lift either 150kg, 200kg or 275kg.
From private homes to care facilities with complex architectural constraints, the Luna X5 ceiling lift system offers a lifting height of 2500mm. Its versatility ensures it can handle even the most challenging installations without compromise.
For construction scenarios with limited ceiling space or unusual layouts, Luna X5 provides the adaptability and reach that other systems simply can’t match. This reduces the need for costly structural modifications or supplementary equipment.
Simon Claridge, CEO of Winncare UK, has said “We’ve had excellent feedback since the launch of the new Luna X5, with users commenting on our new and improved ordering process, faster installation and product performance improvements.
“We’re especially proud of the elegant Danish design. Aesthetics are more than just a luxury in home environments — they’re a key driver of user acceptance and comfort.”
The Luna X5 has been designed to offer a visually appealing ceiling hoist solution with its sleek and discreet profile that blends into domestic settings. For homeowners hesitant to install a hoist due to visual impact, Luna X5 provides a solution that is both functional and stylish.
This aesthetic advantage improves user satisfaction and increases the likelihood of consistent use—leading to better outcomes in care and independence.”
The Luna X5 is the first ceiling track system designed to reduce environmental impact. The newly designed tracks are made from a minimum of 75 per cent recycled post-consumer scrap aluminium, reducing the carbon footprint of the product by 66 per cent.
The tracks have also been designed to minimise the environmental impact over the product’s lifetime, by increasing durability of parts, and ease of repair, as well as a reduced weight of the hoist module, which decreases transport-related carbon emissions.
Within just 18 months, Luna X5 begins to outperform competitors in terms of value. The savings in service labour, reduced callouts, and less frequent part replacements start to stack up quickly.
As an example on the savings, Luna X5 has the first and only hand controller, where either the cable or plastic hook can be replaced in case of damages and not the whole hand controller each time.
In addition, Luna X5 is the first and only lift with 20 years or 30,000 lifts lifespan, maximising the value per cycle and return on investment.
