celebrated their one year anniversary of helping people with their independence in Winchester. Mobility retailer Winchester Mobility recently celebrated its one year anniversary of helping people with their independence in Winchester.

Winchester Mobility welcomed the Mayor and Mayoress of Winchester, family members, regular customers and beneficiaries to its anniversary event which included lunch, cakes and Champagne.

Lee Cogan, owner of Winchester Mobility, began his business venture in September 2024, after gaining years of industry experience which enabled him to set up the only shop of its kind in Winchester. The business was featured in the January 2025 issue of THIIS Magazine.

Reflecting on the success of his business over the last year, Lee highlighted the importance of having a shop situated in an area that isn’t always easily accessible to those with mobility issues. Customers who visit are given the chance to test equipment properly before making decisions.

For those unable to visit the store, Lee and his team are able to provide home demonstrations to ensure that everyone is cared for.

Lee commented: “The year has flown and business has been great. It’s so amazing to be able to help so many people in the Winchester area and it’s a really rewarding job.

“I think it’s vital that there is a mobility shop in this beautiful city and it’s been an amazing year.”

The family run mobility store, based in Winnall, Easton Lane, offers personalised care and affordable solutions when buying scooters, recliner chairs, rollators, canes and other mobility aids.

Mayor of Winchester, Councillor Sudhakar Achwal said: “It is really great to support a business like this and to see them doing so well.

“It is very important work that Winchester Mobility are doing and it’s fantastic to be here to help them celebrate a year of business.”

Jenny Denny, a former employee, said: “This place is the best. Mobility is the best and the people are the best.

“I think that’s why I loved this job because it’s so much fun, but also you get to help customers and make them see that having to use equipment isn’t scary.

“Admitting to yourself that you have to use equipment is a big step and it’s nice to be able to help people make it a fun experience rather than a daunting one. You meet some lovely people too and great regulars.

“It’s the best place I’ve ever worked- Lee is great and I was genuinely so sad when I had to go.”celebrated their one year anniversary of helping people with their independence in Winchester.

As a result of the recent growth of the business, Lee decided to sponsor Winchester Walking Football Club, with its new blue kit now sporting the shops logo.

The idea came about after Lee heard about the team during his Friday market stall in the city centre, and as a keen footballer, he decided to support what he thought was a ‘great cause’.

Brian Mustoe, Chairman of Winchester Walking Football, said: “It’s a great event and we are very pleased to be associated with Winchester Mobility. There is a great range of equipment in the store and really something for everyone, not just scooters.”celebrated their one year anniversary of helping people with their independence in Winchester.

Winchester Walking Football was formed in 2020 and welcomes older adults to enjoy a slower-paced version of the game, to ensure they stay active, improve their fitness and get the opportunity to socialise.
