Chessington-based mobility supplier Wheelfreedom has said that it is seeing a high demand for its Efoldi travel scooters and power chair range from customers planning their holiday break.

The lightweight Efoldi scooters and portable power chair can fit into a small car boot for day-to-day use, family days out, or staycation holidays.

For users heading abroad, the plane-friendly products, which have a 19 stone weight limit, can be folded up like a cabin-sized case and stored away in the cargo hold.

Features include pneumatic tyres and suspension for comfort and a handy attendant control on the power chair.

Wheelfreedom’s Founder and Director, Giles Donald, says that his staff are surprised to hear customers asking to try the Efoldi in particular.

He commented: “This demonstrates a level of brand recognition that’s almost unheard of in the mobility sector.”

Giles credits Efoldi’s marketing strategy for this, as it directly targets the customer, creating pull-through for local retailers.

“Many other mobility product manufacturers choose to rely solely on retail partners to market their products for them at a local or regional level.

“So, from our point of view, it’s great to have people coming in who are excited to try out an Efoldi product”.

Giles adds: “We’re really excited by the level of unit sales so far. I’m feeling confident we’ll see even greater levels of demand, particularly as travel restrictions continue to relax.”

Wheelfreedom, which opened its spacious and contemporary showroom earlier this year, is proud of its customer-centric approach.

Giles recently explained to THIIS that its staff are not paid commission or bonuses, and the firm kept running its vital repair service for customers during lockdown.
