WheelAir to present seating webinar following appointment of new Clinical Research Coordinator
Innovative cooling backrest cushion manufacturer WheelAir is presenting a free webinar in coordination with LC Seating, manufacturer of bespoke seating solutions for wheelchair users, on heat and moisture in seating.
Entitled ‘Heat and Moisture in Seating’, the webinar takes place on 15th June from 1pm to 3pm. The session will be presented by WheelAir’s Corien Staels and Nienke Conijn, who was recently appointed as Clinical Research Coordinator.
Nienke will help advance the conversation about the risks of heat and moisture on wheelchair users and find solutions to address them.
Overheating and sweating can significantly impact someone’s ability to carry out their daily activities and, as a wheelchair user herself, Nienke says that she understands the challenges of managing heat and moisture and how it can impact everyday living.
Expanding on the firm’s current research, Nienke’s new role will involve introducing training courses, research partnerships, and investigating materials.
Now the latest webinar from WheelAir will explore the effect of heat and moisture in end-users with complex seating needs and how the company can help address some of these issues.
The webinar is free to attend and people can register here.
In the two-hour webinar, Corien and Nienke will offer an introduction to the origin of WheelAir. This will be followed by an overview of conditions most known to have heat and moisture issues; the influence of outside temperature and relative humidity on conditions; and recognising non-verbal symptoms in clients who are experiencing heat and moisture issues.
The session will then explore how to clinically evaluate clients using WheelAir’s new risk assessment tools and how to justify the decision to install WheelAir.
To conclude the presentation, the webinar will look at how WheelAir products can be integrated in custom seating, how LC Seating is doing this, followed by some case studies.
