Mobility start-up WheelAIR is planning a photoshoot for the week commencing 2nd September and is searching for manual wheelchair users in and around Glasgow to be in front of the camera.

Launched in 2017 by entrepreneur Corian Steals, WheelAIR’s founder and CEO, the company’s innovative cooling wheelchair backrest is designed to support users’ temperature control and improve comfort with its in-built fan technology.

The company says it is little known that over-heating and over-sweating are problems for many wheelchair users which not only impact their daily lives, but can lead to more serious health ailments.

Aiming to prevent overheating, the backrest’s inbuilt fan technology both cools a user’s back, as well as reduces core temperature by convection, evaporation and conduction heat loss which is accelerated by a constant flow of air.

In addition, the cushion also offers extra support through a unique blend of carefully selected foams.

Since coming to the market, the product and the company have won multiple awards and additional funding, with Corian recently being crowned a winner of the AccelerateHER Awards 2019 in May.

The company is now set to create a new set of product and lifestyle images to showcase its unique device to use across its range of marketing and social media channels and is looking for people interested in being a model for the brand.

Corien commented: “It is exciting to be planning another photoshoot for wheelAIR. We loved the response from past photoshoots around Scotland and in London, and we are looking forward to seeing the new photos soon!”

WheelAIR is asking those interested to send a photo of themselves and their wheelchair to info@wheelair.co.uk and confirmed that participation in the photoshoot is paid.

Recently Corian finished a tour of the different regions of England, meeting with dealers and healthcare professionals to give demonstrations of her mobility innovation and further establish the company’s trade network.
