WheelAir appointment
Dr Allison Saltrese has been appointed as Non-Executive Director at WheelAir.

Disability equipment supplier WheelAir has announced Dr Allison Saltrese as the newest member on its Board of Directors.

Dr Saltrese has substantial experience in the long-term management of complex neurological disability, particularly people who have sustained traumatic brain injuries and spinal-cord injuries.

Temperature and relative humidity are two factors increasingly discussed when talking about pressure injury prevention and treatment, according to WheelAir, and with that, comes an increasing demand for knowledge and clinical evidence.

WheelAir is hoping to make further strides into clinical research after appointing Dr Allison Saltrese as Non-Executive Director.

Corien Staels, Managing Director of WheelAir, commented: “The addition of Dr. Saltrese to the Board will put us in an even stronger position to produce and advance the clinical research around heat and moisture in wheelchair seating.

“She has a wealth of experience both as a clinical practitioner and researcher, and I’m certain that with her guidance we’ll make great strides in accelerating our mission to use the power of airflow to prevent heat and moisture related issues for wheelchair users, while contributing to the conversation and education around topics of heat, moisture and relative humidity in seating.”

WheelAir was founded in 2016 in Glasgow by Corien Staels, to provide effective temperature regulation solutions to overheating and over-sweating for wheelchair users.

Since its introduction to the market in 2017, WheelAir systems have been sold internationally, providing life-changing results for people all over the world.

Over its relatively short time in the market, the firm has enjoyed continued success, partnering with DIETZ Power, expanding its product range with new models, as well as establishing a wholly-owned subsidiary in Holland in February 2020.
