Insurance specialist Surewise is celebrating the launch of its first-ever TV advert by giving away the mobility scooter featured in the campaign, together with 12 months of mobility scooter insurance.

The advert follows Annie, a mobility scooter user, and was filmed on Vale Street in Bristol, which is recognised by Ordnance Survey as England’s steepest residential street. Surewise says the location was chosen because it reflects the kinds of everyday barriers its customers often describe.

For many mobility scooter users, those barriers may not simply be steep hills, but the shops that feel too far away, visits that are repeatedly postponed, or concerns about what could happen if a scooter breaks down, becomes damaged or is involved in an accident.

Surewise says its aim is to remove some of that worry by providing insurance and breakdown support, helping mobility scooter users to feel more confident when travelling independently.

The competition is open to UK residents aged 18 or over who have difficulty walking because of an injury, physical disability or medical condition. Entrants are limited to one entry per person, and the competition closes at 12 noon on Monday 14 September 2026.

Participants can enter the competition, and read the full terms and conditions are available on the Surewise website.

The mobility scooter being offered as the prize is worth approximately £3,000 and will also come with a year of free Surewise insurance, including breakdown cover, key cover and puncture care.

The Class 3 mobility scooter is designed for longer journeys and can be used on the road at speeds of up to 8mph. Originally black, the scooter was wrapped in Surewise’s brand colours specifically for filming the television advert and will be supplied to the winner in the same condition.

It offers a range of up to 25 miles from twin 50Ah batteries and features fully adjustable all-round suspension, 10-inch pneumatic tyres and a compact, narrow frame designed to provide a tight turning circle.

The scooter is also fitted with LED lights and indicators, twin rear-view mirrors, front and rear bumpers and a built-in basket. Its robust construction supports a maximum user weight of 25 stone, or 160kg.

The prize is offered on the condition that the winner agrees to participate in photography and provide content for a case study, as well as consenting to the publication of their name and photograph.

Surewise has confirmed that the competition will be judged rather than conducted as a prize draw. A panel, including at least one independent member, will assess every entry equally, scoring submissions according to how clearly entrants explain where a mobility scooter would give them greater confidence to travel and the sincerity of the story they share.

The entrant judged to have submitted the most inspiring story will win the scooter and insurance package. The winner will be contacted by email within 14 days of the competition closing, with delivery of the mobility scooter expected by 3 November 2026. There is no cash alternative.
