Two new airline-friendly folding mobility scooters launch following dealer feedback
Electric Mobility has launched two new airline compliant mobility products into its Rascal range following significant interest from dealers at Naidex this year – the Smilie and Smilie Auto mobility scooters.
After spending a considerable amount of time in the research and development stages, as well as having key discussions with mobility dealers in the industry, Electric Mobility has revealed its first compact, lithium-ion battery folding scooter for its Network of Authorised Dealers and their valued customers looking for something petite, portable and personal.
The Rascal Smilie and Smile Auto are portable and lightweight mobility scooters, designed for use both at home and abroad. The Smilie is available in two options: either as a manual scooter with an easy-to-fold mechanism (Smilie), or with powered auto folding which folds down and re-assembles in seconds (Smilie Auto).
The compact design of the Smilie makes it easy to manoeuvre and transport, proving particularly helpful for travelling overseas as it is car, cruise, train and plane friendly.
With an airline compliant 11.6Ah lithium-ion battery option which weighs 2.8kg, the mobility device can be taken on planes, giving users a range of up to 7.5 miles to explore their travel destination. Purchasing with the additional long range 17.4Ah battery means customers can travel longer distances while at home (up to 11.2 miles) and easily swap for the airline compliant battery when travelling abroad.
Additionally, the Smilie is the first folding scooter with a delta-bar tiller and features four 8” solid tyres at each corner for stability, as well as a practical front handle for increased accessibility.
Other key features include a fold down backrest, easy-to-remove adjustable armrests, and a 14.5” seat height to provide comfort and support for long journeys.
With an anti-splash seat bag available as an optional extra, it is also easy to transport travel essentials safely and securely.
According to Electric Mobility, its new mobility scooters have already gained popularity with their colourful Peach and Sky Blue finishes.
Electric Mobility will also provide mobility retailers with relevant marketing materials to promote the new mobility scooters with every initial order.
