Tri-Chair 7
Tri-Chair 7 his an adaptable seating solution for users with complex sitting postures who require a higher degree of tailored support.

Seating supplier Tri-Chair has launched a new specialist model as part of its growing range, inspired by the firm’s collaboration with the late rugby league legend, Rob Burrow CBE.

The Tri-Chair 7 – a tribute to the shirt number Burrow played in during his time with Leeds Rhinos – has been designed as an adaptable, highly flexible seating solution for users with complex sitting postures who require a higher degree of tailored support.

Engineered to evolve with the changing needs of each user, the chair’s adjustable seat-width, depth and lateral back cushion not only makes it simple to tailor the chair to unique user requirements, but helps individuals to maintain a strong mid-line sitting position for eating and communication, but ultimately greater comfort.

The chair also offers enhanced manoeuvrability for carers, with built-in battery powered dual and triple motor tilt-in-space functionality and compatibility with Sara-Steady transfer aids to ensure seamless and comfortable transfers, helping to meet the demands of a range of modern care settings.

Shaun McCluskey, Managing Director at Tri-Chair said: “We are delighted to launch the latest chair in our Tri-Chair range, inspired by our work with Rob Burrow. The solutions across our Tri-Chair range have already made a huge difference in people’s lives, and our Tri-Chair 7 model will allow even more users to experience the support, comfort and flexibility they need.”

Rob Burrow CBE made 493 appearances for Leeds Rhinos, winning eight Super League titles and earning induction into the club’s hall of fame in 2020. In 2019, Rob was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), a degenerative neurological condition affecting movement, speech and muscular control. Rob Burrow sadly passed away on 2 June 2024, four and a half years after his MND diagnosis.

Shaun said: “We proudly worked with Rob and his family in 2023, designing a specialist seating solution (the Tri-Chair 3) that would support Rob’s needs as his condition progressed. Rob was very clear in his brief that he wanted something that would support his independence, helping him to communicate and eat comfortably and safely, while, importantly, not turning his home into a healthcare setting.

“Our work with Rob is testament to the work that we do at Tri-Chair, working closely with each and every client to find a solution that not only meets health needs but fits in with each user’s lifestyle. That’s why we’re so proud to launch our Tri-Chair 7 in honour of Rob, a remarkable rugby player and someone who, during the most challenging period of his life, dedicated the final years of his life to raise an incredible amount of awareness for people living with MND.”

To help further support people with this life altering illness, Tri-Chair will be donating £50 for every chair sold to the MND Association, helping to raise funds for understanding and supporting patients and families dealing with this life altering condition.

The Tri-Chair 7 is suitable for individuals with a range of conditions including Motor Neurone Disease (MND), stroke and acquired brain injury, complex postural needs, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, spinal cord injury or paraplegia and bariatric needs.

Shaun added: “We are dedicated to finding the right solutions for every user and we believe this chair will help us to deliver an even better service. We hope we can now support even more people across the country.”

The latest product launch follows a period of growth for Tri-Chair, which continues to redefine the standard across the bespoke and specialist seating sector.

Developed by Channel Healthcare, Tri-Chair offers a range of specialist, highly adaptable seating solutions for users with evolving needs and their carers.
