Thistle Help secure new contract to supply community healthcare equipment in Ayrshire
Scottish mobility retailer Thistle Help has secured a contract to supply and deliver community healthcare equipment for North, South and East Ayrshire, and NHS Ayrshire & Arran for the next two years.
The retailer has been fulfilling the Pan-Ayrshire Contract for Supply of Community Equipment for the last five years, supplying healthcare equipment including profiling beds and accessories, mattresses, hoisting equipment, tilt-in-space shower chairs and pressure-relieving boots.
It is the only local Ayrshire company in the framework, with other companies equipment manufacturers located mainly down south of the country.
Thistle Help tendered for the renewal of this contract in 2023 and the retailer was successful in securing four lots within the framework. The new contract includes all of the North, South and East Ayrshire local authorities and North Ayrshire Council this time.
Laura Hays, Director of Thistle Help, commented to THIIS: “As an independent local company, we are delighted to be awarded this contract again and look forward to continuing the great working relationship we have already built up, with the occupational therapists and community stores”.
George Ruddick, Managing Director of Thistle Help, added: “These contracts are vital in securing long term employment in Ayrshire and they enable our company to continually grow.”
Thistle Help supplies a wide range of equipment including lift & rise recliners, mobility scooters, manual and power wheelchairs, adjustable beds and daily living aids from its showrooms in Irvine and Crosshouse, Kilmarnock. Earlier this year staff conquered the Glasgow Kiltwalk in aid of Crosshouse Children’s Fund.
