Theraposture to expand pioneering Orbit Rotating Bed range at OT Show

The new Orbit 235 (Occupational Rotational Bed for Independent Transfers) is the most advanced, versatile and adaptable rotating bed available, according to Theraposture.
The Orbit provides a personalised, powered solution to getting in and out of bed safely whilst reducing the need for carers.
Developed in collaboration with occupational therapists and end users, the Orbit can be reconfigured electronically and mechanically to match a wide variety of user heights, weights and body shapes.
Effectively one bed can be used by patients from 4’10” to 6’6”. Overall, it is proven to reduce care costs and represents the most sustainable sleeping solution in the world for enhanced independence or interdependence at home.
Building on the proven success of the Orbit 235, which was launched at the OT Show in 2023, there will be the first opportunity to see and try the new models in the range – the Orbit 335 HD and Orbit 235X Divan.
The two new Orbit models promise to revolutionise care and mobility for an even wider user group and can offer aesthetic choices.
With a maximum user weight of up to 300kg and tested to lift 600kg, the Orbit 335 HD it is the leading specialist solution for plus size users. It has the same configurable and programming benefits as the Orbit 235, including full support for elevated legs and feet, a 110cm wide mattress and optional handlebar grips.
The new Orbit 235X is the new divan version of the Orbit 235 and is available as either a single or double combination bed. It provides the same functionality and clinical benefits as the current Orbit 235 bed, and can be supplied with either an upholstered Divan or a solid oak surround.
The Double Combination Orbit 235X allows couples to remain together in the same bed even if their mobility requirements differ. this bed features programmable seat height and depth settings, a choice of back angles, three different rotation speed options and full support for elevated legs and feet.
The complete range of Orbit Rotating Beds will be available to try on Stand H36 alongside expert educational content from Maarten Middelkoop, Clinical Director of Compliance. Maarten will demonstrate how medical device product design must achieve practical effectiveness, compliance with standards, affordability, and adaptability to help equipment services with reissuing.
