Osprey Sling FactoryDisability equipment supplier The Osprey Sling Company has opened a second factory in Lancashire following the success of its Snugfit slings.

There are four people employed at its sling factory in Wigan, but the business plans to add another three machinists over the next 12-18 months as it continues to grow production in the northwest.

Paul King, Director at The Osprey Group, commented to THIIS: “Over the last 3-4 months we have won some substantial NHS government loan store contracts from our competitors and have already filled some big stock orders to these new customers. We also have a growing export range of customers.

“Our new sling factory is already in full production and we are sending out quality products to our new NHS customers and dealers.”

Snugfit hoisting slings are designed and manufactured in the UK. There are a range of slings in the range, including those specified for bathing, toileting and transfers as well as ones which offer neck and postural support and are specified for children and small adults.

The Deluxe Sling is the most popular style of sling, according to the firm. Designed with slide sheet material in the leg sections the sling is available in both loop and clip versions to suit most hoists and is available in nine sizes.

The Osprey Sling Company is part of The Osprey Group, which is based in Bicester, Oxfordshire. The Osprey Group offers a range of products designed to aid in different aspects of day to day life, including for showering and bathing, toileting and moving and handling.

Recently, the supplier was presented with the Innovative Product Award at the National Association of Equipment Providers (NAEP) Conference for its Wash/Dry Toilet Raiser.
