TGA at Naidex 2019 image

A leading mobility scooter specialist, TGA has experienced a successful Naidex 2019 with healthy visitor footfall on its exhibition stand and popular mobility test track.

TGA launched the 4mph Minimo Autofold mobility scooter at the NEC which is the latest addition to its award-winning range. It builds upon the popular pedigree of the transportable Minimo family with the addition of powered folding.

This automated action allows users with limited strength or dexterity to benefit from a lightweight car boot scooter as manual folding is not required. By activating the mechanism with a key fob and safety pedal, the Minimo Autofold folds into a compact size ready for straightforward storage.

Lifting into a car boot is also easy by leaning the pneumatic tyres onto a vehicle’s bumper and leveraging with the easy-grip lifting hand. The Minimo Autofold incorporates all the best-selling features of the Minimo Plus 4, particularly the traditional four-wheel configuration which provides enhanced stability.

The ability of the scooter to fold in one complete unit maximises convenience when using cars, public transport, planes and coaches.

Daniel Stone, TGA Managing Director, commented: “Naidex proved to be a strong platform to launch our Minimo Autofold. Visitors were impressed by the new level of support it provides and how it opens up independent mobility to a wider demographic.

“Through the combination of lightweight design and automated folding many more owners with restricted mobility can choose to travel alone or benefit from easier storage and deployment. Freedom is all about maximum convenience – this is what the Minimo Autofold delivers in abundance.”

Alongside the Minimo Autofold launch, visitors were able to see and experience the complete TGA range of scooters, wheelchairs, powerpacks and powerchairs.

The adjacent TGA mobility test track provided a unique opportunity to test drive TGA products around an engaging and fun course. Obstacles were included to simulate the everyday situations a mobility scooter user may face, including road crossings, slopes and reversing scenarios.

Experienced TGA advisors were able to guide drivers around the course whilst divulging the latest information on safe driving and the Highway Code. This process also allowed visitors, with the help of TGA, trial and evaluate products so that the right scooter for their lifestyle could be identified. Test drives of the pioneering WHILL Model C powerchair were the most popular.

Daniel Stone concluded: “There was a significant buzz in and around our Naidex test track this year as we welcomed individuals with many varying abilities and lifestyles to trial our products. Only by completing a test drive can you truly understand whether a scooter or powerchair is right for your needs.

“Our track was busy throughout the event with visitors test driving TGA products of all sizes from compact Zest models to our stylish WHILL Model C Powerchair and new-look 8mph Breeze S4 with off-road capabilities. By sponsoring and managing the Naidex test track once more we have firmly reiterated our commitment to road safety.”
