Susurro unveils innovative wheelchair wheels to deliver greater control to end users
Wheelchair and power add-on supplier Susurro has launched innovative wheelchair wheels that allow active wheelchair users to finely control speed, slow down and immobilise themselves – without gripping wheel rims.
Skeed are innovative wheelchair wheels manufactured by Eppur, the specialist that built Susurro’s award-winning Dreeft wheels.
The Skeed system incorporates unique braking levers positioned on each wheel hub. Weighing only 2.15kg per wheel, the system offers 100 per cent manoeuvrability on two wheels and is compatible with power assist units such as the Yomper+.
As the exclusive Eppur distributor in the UK, Susurro is offering Skeed to mobility retailers for the first time – delivering even greater control and convenience to end users.

Building on the technology of the Dreeft system, Skeed wheels introduce unique actuation levers that activate a mechanism to brake wheelchair wheels. The easy-to-grip levers eliminate the need to manually slow down wheels by holding onto rims which can be commonly dirty and wet.
Fitting Skeed wheels to wheelchairs has multiple user benefits including eliminating hand friction and requiring only 80 per cent of normal effort to brake. They are compatible with powered add-ons and offer increasing manoeuvrability and safety, reducing shoulder, arm and hand wear
