Suppliers team up with Promoting Independence to deliver online OT training during the pandemic
A series of live training webinars have been scheduled by Promoting Independence in partnership with several companies in the industry to engage and educate occupational therapists during the pandemic.
The South Wales-based occupational practice led by OTAC founder Stuart Barrow decided to embrace the web-based technology to enable companies to continue to reach OTs following the company’s decision to postpone several of its popular conferences.
“Clearly we’re unable to run our events at the moment, so we thought long and hard about how we could best provide value to the thousands of occupational therapists who would usually attend our events each year, while still helping our retail clients and manufacturers to showcase their services during this pandemic,” explained Stuart.
“This online programme allows OTs to continue to learn, develop and grow, as well as providing an opportunity for CPD, meaning suppliers and retailers who provide vital equipment and services can continue to operate and spread awareness of their solutions.”
To date, the live training has been organised via video conferencing platform Zoom and has seen Geberit host one successful session and two by Handicare.
Now, with over 100 delegates registered, Promoting Independence has developed and released a new programme of webinars.
