Sunrise Medical unveils next‑generation mobility solutions designed to enhance user independence

Mobility solutions manufacturer Sunrise Medical has unveiled a string of mobility innovations to enhance independence, usability and performance across a range of everyday environments.
The standout launch was the Sterling S50 Carbon, the first ever fully carbon‑frame, ultra‑lightweight mobility scooter, and was showcased at Naidex for the first time. Designed to improve portability without compromising durability, the S50 Carbon was a star feature throughout the two‑day event.
Building on the success of Sunrise Medical’s flagship Q50R Carbon, one of the first mobility products to feature a carbon‑fibre frame, the S50 Carbon weighs just 13kg. Its lightweight construction makes lifting, transport and storage straightforward, supporting everyday activities such as shopping trips, errands and social outings.
The scooter also features a contemporary carbon‑fibre frame and a range of practical accessories, including magnetic cup and phone holders, front and rear bags and battery storage options, allowing users to adapt the S50 Carbon to suit their lifestyle.
Visitors to the Sunrise Medical stand were invited to take part in live demonstrations and hands‑on trials, including lifting the scooter into a mock car boot to experience its portability first hand.
Ryan Windmill, Product Specialist at Sunrise Medical, said: “Due to boot space, travelling by car can be a challenge for many mobility scooter users, which is why we wanted to create a practical solution that makes every day journeys a breeze. The S50 Carbon’s design strikes a careful balance between lightweight portability, durability and ease of use, supported by rigorous testing to ensure it performs reliably in everyday life.
“Naidex provided an excellent opportunity to introduce the S50 Carbon and speak directly with users, retailers and clinicians. The response has been extremely positive, so we’re looking forward to seeing more of our scooters out and about.”
Alongside the S50 Carbon, Sunrise Medical also s highlighted the latest enhancements to the Sterling S800 by Scoozy, its flagship bike-style mobility scooter, initially launched last year. The updated version builds on the strength of the original, retaining its established comfort and features, such as an adaptive suspension, a cushioned backrest, LCD display, USB charging and NFC locking, while introducing performance refinements to further enhance the riding experience.
A new advanced motor now delivers 40 percent more power and 40 percent more torque, supporting smoother progress on longer journeys and more challenging terrain. Comfort has also been further refined through upgraded tyres, featuring a comfort‑focused compound and improved tread design, contributing to a more planted and controlled ride.
Lee Ratican, National Sales Manager at Sunrise Medical, said: “The Sterling S800 by Scoozy set a new benchmark when it launched, and the feedback from users has been overwhelmingly positive. These latest developments build on that strong foundation, offering enhanced power, improved comfort and even greater control, while preserving the design and performance qualities that users value.”
Completing Sunrise Medical’s presence, RGK, part of the Sunrise Medical Group, also presented its new CeramiX finishes, now available exclusively on the Octane Sub4 wheelchair. This ceramic‑based collection combines long‑term durability with premium aesthetics and launches in six colourways: Sandstorm, Stealth Grey, Hunter Green, Ice White, Volt Yellow and Jet Black.
