Sunrise Medical gets set to showcase its latest postural care innovations at the OT Show

Wheelchair and assistive technologies manufacturer Sunrise Medical will unveil the latest innovations from its rebranded Helping Hand range of mobility aids at this year’s Occupational Therapy (OT) Show, taking place at Birmingham’s NEC from 26-27 November..
The OT Show is an annual event designed for professionals in the field to learn, connect and explore the latest advancement in occupational therapy.

On the Helping Hand stand, visitors will be able to discover a host of postural care and management solutions, including the SymmetriSleep. This versatile system is designed to provide postural support while lying down, promoting optimal alignment and enhancing sleep quality. Its components include brackets, pillows and a specialised support layer which are designed to work together for tailored positioning and pressure relief.
Two Symmetrikit static postural chairs, the SymmetriSeat 50 and SymmetriSeat 70, both of which are designed to cater to the diverse needs of an individual, will also be on display, along with mobility aids such as the Equazone cushion.
Faith Brown, Occupational Therapist and Clinical Lead at Sunrise Medical, will lead two CPD sessions on 26 November. ‘Who Needs a Sleep System?’, set to start at 10.30am, will explore the most effective postural positioning for when a patient is resting or lying down.
Those keen to find out more about the assessment, provision and fitting of static seating for proximal trunk and pelvic segments, may also attend Faith’s ‘Trunk Support for Function in Static Seating’ workshop at 4.00pm.
Faith said: “I’m really looking forward to this year’s OT Show. It’s always a great opportunity for occupational therapists to share knowledge, connect and explore solutions for our clients.
“We’re going to be running demonstrations throughout the day, so please pop by the stand to have a look at how Helping Hand and Symmetrikit can support postural care goals. Specific client questions are absolutely welcome!”
