Gino from Stiltz Homelifts

Stiltz Homelifts will look to engage with occupational therapists in October as it delivers a CPD-accredited seminar at OTAC Southampton – the company’s first since the coronavirus lockdown in the spring.

Delivered by Director Gino Farruggio, the ‘How a homelift can facilitate in-home enablement’ presentation will illustrate how appropriate homelift provision can increase client independence, safety and well-being in the home.

In particular, the seminar will explore the homelift assessment process, moving and handling considerations, as well as wheelchair suitability. In addition, Gino will touch on elements relating to mental health and Covid-19 risk reduction in response to the pandemic and how this relates to homelift prescription.

According to Stiltz, delegates who attend the seminar will leave with a better understanding of homelifts, including the occupational performance benefits, potential cost & care savings, as well as a consideration of positive factors beyond environmental improvements.

The educational content will be supported by evidence-based material and topical case studies for contextual reference.

In addition, Stiltz aims to enhance healthcare professionals’ homelift prescription practices through condition-specific knowledge.

Supporting the seminar, Stiltz will also exhibit at the conference – the first Occupational Therapy Adaptations Conference (OTAC) since the coronavirus lockdown.

The Stiltz stand will see its trusted advisors ready to engage with delegates and offer advice, alongside free educational material including professional guides to DFG provision and legislation.

The upcoming conference and presentation mark a pivotal moment for the sector, which has seen almost every physical event in the industry postponed, cancelled or moved online for 2020.

OTAC Southampton will be held on 14 October 2020 at the Hilton at the Ageas Bowl, Botley Road, West End, Southampton, SO30 3XH.

With the conference taking place from 9am to 6pm, Stiltz’ seminar will be held at the Geberit Theatre from 11:30am – 12:00pm.

To attend, delegates must register for a ticket as per COVID-secure rules.
