Stannah gets set to unveil new homelift brand at the upcoming Occupational Therapy Show
Family-run lift supplier Stannah has announced that it will unveil its innovative new brand, Uplifts at this year’s Occupational Therapy Show.
Healthcare professionals, occupational therapists, and industry specialists are invited to visit Uplifts on stand E31 on 27-28 November 2024 at the NEC in Birmingham to learn more about the new Uplifts brand and attend the informative sessions.
Visitors to the stand will have the exclusive opportunity to experience the new Uplifts product firsthand. The demonstration unit will allow occupational therapists to explore its innovative features and benefits, assess its applications, and understand how it can support their clients’ daily living needs.
Stand presentations will take place on 27 November at 10.30am, and 28 November 2pm.
The company will be joined by renowned occupational therapist Kate Sheehan, who will deliver expert presentations on home accessibility and product design. Innovation Theatre presentations will take place on 27 November from 11.50am, 28 November at 11.20am.
During the two-day event, Kate Sheehan will present daily sessions in the Innovation Theatre titled ‘The person-occupation-environment models influencing home modifications’, and ‘Innovation and collaboration – The role of the occupational therapist in product design’ with Sam Stannah.
The sessions will explore how living spaces significantly impact an individual’s ability to engage in meaningful daily activities and overall wellbeing, and highlight the crucial partnership between manufacturing expertise and occupational therapy insights in developing user-centred mobility solutions.
Kate Sheehan explains: “Housing is a fundamental social determinant of health, directly affecting physical and mental health inequalities throughout life, as highlighted in the Marmot Review of 2010.
“Our sessions will delve into how the POE model can be effectively utilised to assess home circulation and accessibility, working collaboratively with clients to enhance their living spaces.”
Stannah says Uplifts mission aligns with occupational therapy interventions to maximise occupational performance by enabling independent internal circulation in a client’s home, maintaining their dignity and personal choice, supporting ageing in place and ultimately supporting participation in meaningful activities within their home.
Sam Stannah, a sixth-generation member of the renowned Stannah family business, and CEO of Uplifts, comments: “The launch of our new brand Uplifts at the OT Show represents our commitment to innovation in accessibility solutions.
“Working alongside professionals like Kate Sheehan ensures our products truly meet the needs of end-users while supporting healthcare professionals in their practice.”
