Stannah Curved Lift

Stairlift and homelift manufactuer, Stannah, is rolling out its innovative digital platform in France, Spain, Italy and Portugal following a successful launch in the UK and US.

The platform, created by Zone – the customer experience agency inside Cognizant – allows customers to book a visit from a Stannah representative and buy its life-changing products online at the click of a button from the safety and convenience of their own home.

Over the last three months, Zone has adapted the UK platform into localised experiences, modifying the customer journeys and content for four different European markets.

In November 2020, Stannah set the ambition to become the first stairlift-provider to offer a full end-to-end, seamless digital customer journey.

The result distilled the process of arranging a new stairlift from weeks into a 20-minute interaction on a laptop, tablet or mobile phone.

The first order was placed just 82 minutes after launch and the company is looking forward to replicating the strong growth it’s seen through this channel in France, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

Sam Stannah, who heads up the Strategic Projects Team, commented: “We are beyond thrilled with the success of our digital platform in the UK that offered a reassuring and easy digital experience for people when they couldn’t meet with the Stannah team face-to-face.

“We have now given our customers more choice and accessibility in how they purchase and are very excited to now offer this to markets in Europe as part of our ongoing commitment to support and enable our customers in the digital era.”

Roy Capon, CEO at Zone, said: “Our original challenge was to help Stannah supplement its traditional sales process with a direct, customer-centric digital journey that was easy, enjoyable and empowering for customers to use, offering enough technical information to provide an accurate quote but also keeping humanity and reassurance at its core.

“In just 12 weeks we designed, built and launched the platform, transforming the stairlift purchase journey from weeks to just 20 minutes – and Zone has now spent the last three months adapting this to create localised and personalised experiences for each market in France, Spain, Italy and Portugal.”

Founded in 1867, Stannah has grown to have a turnover in excess of £260 million, now employing over 2000 people and providing stairlifts, commercial passenger lifts, service lifts and goods lifts to a global customer base.

In May, the manufacturer announced that it was utilising augmented reality to help prospective customers get a clearer picture of how a stairlift might fit into their home.
