PPod Coronation Street

Specialised Orthotic Services’ (SOS) P Pod has made its television debut after producers of long-running soap Coronation Street requested to use the postural support device in on the show’s storylines.

Contacted earlier in the year by the TV production companies, the actual date of the product’s appearance, along with the storyline that it would be featured in, were shrouded in secrecy, says SOS.

Last week, the P Pod got its chance to shine after being featured in a storyline featuring Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) and Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) as their son Oliver was diagnosed with mitochondrial disorder – a rare incurable illness.

Standing out thanks to its striking purple cover, the product with its wheelbase for mobility around the home was spotted in several scenes.

Steve Stone, Commercial Director for SOS, commented: “We are thrilled to have our P Pod feature on such a well known and loved British soap.  It is a great platform for us!”

The P Pod combines a standard or custom moulded support within a conventional bean bag base to provide a comfortable seating solution for children and adults when indoors in the home or day care environment.
