‘Special-order’ model of invisible step lift set to take wheelchair users to new heights
Following the launch of its Invisible Step Lift just over a year ago, Oyster Mayfair has announced a new special-order version of its vertical travel (model V) low-rise transfer lift.
Designed to be a discreet access solution for wheelchair users, the Invisible Step Lift is a low-rise transfer lift stored underground which aims to seamlessly blend in with its surroundings.
Marketed as a solution for when traditional access ramps may not be viable or desired, the adaptation can be used indoor and outdoor and is controlled via remote control.
With a maximum vertical travel height of 800mm on its model V, the new special-order option can now extend to 1000mm, providing wheelchair users with a maximum elevation of up to 1 metre between two levels.
Neal Boswell, Marketing Manager for Oyster Mayfair and a part-time wheelchair user himself, told THIIS: “Whilst an additional height variation between two-floor levels of 200mm (7.87 inches) does not sound like a giant step for mankind, it is a significant difference in height and an obstacle for wheelchair users.”
Offering mobility retailers a £600 commission for every successful referral, the new extended-height variation of its model V step lift joins the supplier’s other two-step lift models, the VH (vertical and horizontal) and SR (short rise).
Recently, the company unveiled new marketing materials for its step lift portfolio, aiming to lift the lid on its product range to wheelchair users and retail partners.
