South West mobility companies combine as HMS Mobility Solutions joins with Hickleys
Having operated as an independent mobility specialist for the past 12 years, Garry Hellings’ HMS Mobility Solutions has now joined forces with Somerset-based Hickleys Mobility and Healthcare.
A former Ottobock Mobility Business Manager, Garry was on a business flight to Northern Ireland when he suffered a stroke at just 45-year-old, leading to his diagnosis of Hughes Syndrome. It was at this point Garry decided to utilise his extensive product knowledge and experience and start HMS Mobility Solutions in 2008.
A family-run operation, the company specialises in the provision of prescription, powered and manual wheelchairs, in particular for individuals with complex mobility issues, covering Somerset, Devon, Dorset, Hampshire, Bristol, South Wales, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Cornwall.
Now HMS Mobility Solutions will bring its vast mobility expertise to Hickleys Mobility and Healthcare, with the Somerset retailer stating that the merger will add significantly and beneficially to its existing range of mobility products and services.

With almost 90 years under its belt and two showrooms to its name, Hickleys established its healthcare mobility division over 15 years ago, providing equipment and consumable items to residential and nursing homes across the South West of England.
