Silvalea continues its strong export growth after securing new £500k contract in Germany
Devonshire-based accessibility equipment manufacturer Silvalea has secured a £500k contract to help cement its presence in the German market.
A provider of specialised patient handling slings for over 30 years, Silvalea is currently enjoying strong growth after securing 15 per cent of export sales in 2024.
This latest bespoke sling order for Silvalea comes via a long-term partnership with a market-leading provider of healthcare products across 25,000 German care homes.
The range of slings developed for Germany is the culmination of an excellent 12 months for the Newton Abbott-based firm.
Silvalea has stated that it plans to launch a raft of patient handling products in 2025 and beyond, working with healthcare professionals as part of its continued drive to improve patient safety and comfort.
There are also plans to open a new ‘Centre of Excellence’ in the coming months.
Gary Bevan, President at Silvalea, who also leads global product development on slings, commented: “2025 will be exciting for Silvalea. The facility will include product testing labs, training suite and retail space along with improved warehouse and production capacity.
“This is a scale-up operation for us, and is part of our commitment to be a global player in the world’s patient care industry.”
Les Teague, Group President for Savaria Patient Care, comments: “The new facility gives Silvalea the launch pad which will enable Savaria Patient Care to continue its strong growth in EU and the UK.
“It’s going to be exciting for the Silvalea team, and Savaria, as we build on Silvalea’s superb pedigree and support its future growth.’’
