Significant senior management changes at Rise & Recline UK as new director looks ahead to growth
Rise & Recline UK, the Nottingham-based manufacturer of handcrafted adjustable chairs and beds, has made a number of major senior management changes, headed up by the supplier’s new management team, with former director Samantha Langtree leaving the company.
With an impressive CV that boasts senior management roles at GDA Hotpoint, LG Electronics & AHT Cooling UK, John Lougher has now joined Rise & Recline as the company’s co-director.
A fully trained Six Sigma engineer with extensive experience in process management and business change, the appointment of John comes amidst a number of changes to the company’s management structure.
Highlighting the changes as part of its strategy to build the business to meet the needs of future growth, John commented: “Rise & Recline is well placed to grow its market share in an expanding market and I did not hesitate when asked to join the business to assist in that process of expansion.
“The company has an excellent team, focused on high-quality products & excellent customer service. I am looking forward to working with Sales Director Nigel Morley who continues with the business. Nigel is widely respected for his track record, integrity & vast knowledge of the industry.
“In addition, I am already very impressed with the dedication and commitment of the management team to meeting our standards of quality and delivery which includes our standard seven to 10-day build pledge on standard chairs.”
Strengthening the company’s sales capabilities and supporting Nigel, Craig Negri has joined the rise and recline manufacturer as its new Sales Manager.
“Craig Negri is ideally placed for this role, having spent a highly successful decade with the company in the past,” continued John.
“Overall, he has great knowledge of both Rise & Recline products and the mobility & healthcare markets.”
Having previously been the Group Financial Controller of Staffline PLC, Leanne Bowen has been selected as Rise & Recline’s new Financial Controller, bringing a wealth of financial experience to the team, says the company.
“We are also recruiting new people into our production team to enable us to meet the increasing demand for our products and to ensure we continue to strive to be the ideal partners for Rise & Recline furniture stockists,” continued John.

Samantha Langtree, the company’s former co-director, has now left the company, with Rise & Recline UK thanking her for her past service.
Operating from its facilities in Long Eaton, Nottingham, the BHTA-member company has been supplying the mobility industry with its chairs, beds and accessories ranges since 2001.
