Sheffield-based charity launches festive appeal to help fund specialist rehabilitation

Sheffield-based STEPS Rehabilitation Foundation is launching its flagship festive appeal, The Christmas Charity Stars for STEPS in November, a dazzling light installation that will wrap the STEPS Rehabilitation Centre in cascading lights and shining stars of all sizes.
The display aims to bring festive cheer to clients, visitors and staff, while raising vital funds.
Melanie Tarrant, Fundraising Manager at STEPS Rehabilitation Foundation, said: “We’re inviting individuals, families, and businesses to sponsor a star and help support people rebuilding their lives after serious injury or illness.”
Professionals across the legal, case management and healthcare sectors are invited to get involved in the unique opportunity to make a visible difference to clients and families after life changing injuries or illness.
Launched in Autumn 2023, STEPS Rehabilitation Foundation is a charitable trust dedicated to providing support and funding for individuals recovering from life changing injuries and illness.
The Foundation’s mission is to improve quality of life for people with disabilities following injury or illness, helping them access specialist services and equipment when no other funding options, such as personal injury claims or statutory support are available.
Run by a team of dedicated Trustees, two of whom have life-changing injuries themselves, the Foundation works with trusted service providers and suppliers to ensure the best value and outcomes for clients.
Funding is used to support therapies and equipment such as specialist rehabilitation, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and hydrotherapy, home adaptations and accessibility improvements, disability aids and wheelchairs, and accessible leisure and sporting activities.
A fundraising ‘trap push’ along the old railway line from Keswick to Threlkeld and back will take place in October, as Calvert Stables staff and volunteers rally to raise money for a new ‘ride and drive’ horse.
