Scooter specialist saves Christmas for desperate Lifestyle and Mobility customer
TGA, a scooter supplier to Lifestyle and Mobility, has gone the extra mile to ensure its valued dealer was able to deliver independence to a desperate Southend customer just before Christmas.
Lifestyle and Mobility is a family-run mobility dealership that has been trading since 2002 with retail outlets in Potters Bar, Basildon, Southend-on-Sea and Bournemouth. It has won the TGA Dealer of the Quarter award twice and works closely with the scooter supplier.
Realising the importance of mobility scooters in people’s lives, TGA managed to order and supply a Minimo Plus 4 on the final day of trading, even though TGA deliveries had ceased for the Christmas break, in order to keep one customer mobile during Christmas.
Darren Macey, Business Development Manager at Lifestyle and Mobility, explained: “We had been approached by a local lady who was desperate for a scooter over Christmas. Without it she was going to be housebound and unable to visit her daughter, a very lonely Christmas was on the cards.
“We assured her we would do everything we could to get a Minimo Plus 4 delivered before Christmas, however TGA supply had stopped for the festive break.
“I phoned TGA Area Sales Manager Ryan Curtis late morning on the last day of trading and even though it looked impossible, he pulled a few strings and managed to personally deliver the exact specified scooter that evening. An amazing effort which meant our customer enjoyed Christmas Eve with her family and not alone.
“We really appreciate this support especially as Ryan missed a lot of the TGA Christmas party. This is why we choose TGA – their quality trade service helps to underpin ours.”
Ryan Curtis, TGA Area Sales Manager, added: “I was fully aware that without my last minute 3-hour trip to Southend, Lifestyle and Mobility’s customer would have waited up to two weeks for a standard delivery. Their customer was desperate which once again highlights the lifeline that scooters provide for so many people.
“We always appreciate that our level of service needs to be impeccable so dealers can achieve the same. Now I understand how rushed Father Christmas must feel!”
