Roma Medical Aids rebrands its dedicated sports division ahead of World Cup tournament
Roma Medical Aids, a manufacturer of medical aids and rehabilitation equipment, has announced that it has rebranded its sports division, RMA Sport, to Vulcan Sport.
Although the name and visual identity are changing, Vulcan Sport will bring together the same specialist knowledge, engineering expertise and commitment to creating made-to-measure sports wheelchairs that athletes have come to expect from RMA Sport.
The rebrand, Roma states, is about is building on the brand and creating a stronger identity for the future. Over the coming months, Roma will be unveiling a new website and others new things ahead.
David Elstone, CEO of Roma Medical Aids, commented exclusively to THIIS: “The products have outgrown the brand. That’s the simplest way to explain Vulcan Sports. We’ve spent years developing chairs that compete at the very highest level, but we always felt the brand didn’t fully capture the innovation, performance and ambition behind them.
“The wheelchair sports community has been encouraging us to create a dedicated identity for some time, and we’ve listened. Vulcan Sports gives us a brand that matches the quality of the products and the direction we’re heading.”
The rebrand comes ahead of Vulcan Sport being invited to accompany the England Wheelchair Rugby team to the Wheelchair Rugby League World Cup in New South Wales, Australia, this October and November.
On its first major outing Vulcan Sport will be working closely with the players in a demanding competitive environment which the brand hopes will help shape the future development of its sports wheelchairs.
In the April 2026 issue of THIIS, David Elstone discussed how the firm has been focused on strengthening partnerships, renewing its product range, and making the business easier to work with for partners at every level.
