Manufacturer of handcrafted adjustable chairs and beds Rise & Recline has been operating throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and has introduced a number of new initiatives to offer support to its retail partners, employees and customers.

During the coronavirus outbreak, the furniture specialist, which is based in Long Eaton, Nottingham, remained operational and implemented full guidance for all employees on how to stay safe whilst fulfilling the needs of the business and their customers. This includes rotating shifts and ensuring staff adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Rise & Recline said that the decision to remain operational is to enable its trade customers to meet orders from the health and social care sector.

John Lougher, Director of Rise & Recline, commented: “We felt it was important to keep producing during the pandemic to support those trade customers who were continuing to operate, also we believe that our staff appreciated that by continuing to produce and to review all of our processes we would become a stronger business when things get back to normal.”

Rise & Recline has also developed a new website which will feature a new, innovative Chair & Bed builder tool that can be used by the company’s trade partners to find the right product for their customers. The new website will be launched at the end of June.

During the coronavirus outbreak, Rise & Recline also launched a new white-glove delivery and commissioning service for its retail partners. Available only in mainland UK, the service is aimed at assisting retailers to complete their customer orders by handling the delivery and installation of a Rise & Recline chair or bed to any address.

According to the furniture manufacturer, feedback about its new white glove delivery and commissioning service has been “amazing” and has helped many retailers who furloughed their delivery staff during the pandemic.

The company says it is still accepting orders from mobility stores still trading and is able to maintain its 7 – 10-day turnaround for its ranges, highlighting the benefit of manufacturing in the UK.
