Adjustable chair and bed manufacturer Rise & Recline launched its Infinity and Infinity Plus chairs at The OT Show in Birmingham last week, both of which it said, were extremely popular with visitors.

Complimenting the new chairs were several examples from the company’s portfolio of adjustable chairs – all of which meet the MDR (Medical Device Regulations).

Nigel Morley, Director of Rise & Recline commented: “We are always looking to engage with occupational therapists as they play a vital role in the assessment and prescribing of our products and therefore the OT Show is always an important event for us.

“Over the course of the two days, our new chairs proved very popular with visitors to the stand and the positive feedback certainly exceeded our expectations.

“Products such as the Infinity chairs truly benefit from being demonstrated in a face-to-face environment so it was great to be able to do that with so many OTs at the show.”

The Infinity has a maximum user weight of 160kg and is available with a comprehensive range of standard features which include a leg rest weight limit of 95kg, independent direct drive foot section operation and automatic back relief whilst the user moves to a standing position.

It offers the user a broad choice of postural positions with the Tilt in Space function being used in a variety of ways depending on the requirements of the user.

By using the dual Tilt in Space the user can enjoy independent leg rest and back movement whilst also benefiting from automatic back relief by having a straighter postural position when alighting the chair.

Additional features include detachable seat and leg rest wraps for ease of cleaning, five back and arm rest design options, left or right sided handset holding loop and carers loop and an emergency battery back-up.

Complimenting the Infinity is the Infinity Plus which incorporates all the features found in the Infinity but has an increased maximum user weight capacity of 254kg with a maximum dynamic leg rest capacity of 160kg.

Nottingham-based Rise and Recline manufactures a range of bespoke and adjustable chair and beds, all of which meet the Medical Device Regulations.

Over the past year the manufacturer introduced a number of new initiatives to offer support to its retail partners, employees and customers during the COVID-19 pandemic, which included implementing full guidance for all employees on how to stay safe whilst fulfilling the needs of the business and its customers.
