‘Revolutionary’ sleep aid manufacturer looking to appoint UK retailers as part of expansion plans
Fidgetbum™, a ground-breaking non-medicinal sleep aid, is now looking to develop a retailer network in the UK, as part of the latest stage of the company’s development.
Fidgetbum™ is the brainchild of inventor, businesswoman and entrepreneur Mel Wood.
“We currently sell on a direct basis but feel the time is now right to broaden our horizons to a larger customer base in the UK and believe the best way to achieve this would be to engage with leading mobility retailers,” explained Mel.
The lightbulb moment for Mel came seven years ago when she was a sleep-deprived stay-at-home mum.
“My youngest daughter’s frequent night-waking had left me exhausted. I was desperate for a solution to stop her kicking her covers off and waking cold throughout the night, but couldn’t find anything to help,” continued Mel. “So, I took matters into my own hands and invented the Fidgetbum™, and began a journey to create and build a brand, promoting a product that I’ve put my heart and soul into and, in doing so, helping other sleep deprived families get some much-needed rest.”
Fidgetbum™ is a soothing, non-medicinal sleep aid. A stretchy wrap-around device that snugly holds the covers in place, without restricting the person in bed, it also provides a sense of security that sleep experts have likened to a warm hug, Fidgetbum™ says.
Whilst it was initially invented to help Mel’s toddler daughter transition into a bed and sleep through the night, Mel received positive feedback from parents of children with additional sensory needs, as sleep disturbances are often a major issue for children with autism and this can really take its toll on their families.
Fidgetbum™ is now used by people of all ages with a wide range of conditions, including cerebral palsy, autism, anxiety and restless leg syndrome.
There are five sizes of Fidgetbum™ available: single bed, single bed extra-long, toddler bed, double bed extra-long and king size bed extra-long. There is also a bespoke service for specialist beds.
