Following its launch just over a year ago, Hereford-based retailer Mills Mobility has recently invested in making its showroom more accessible for customers.

Speaking to Greg Mills, Managing Director of the Mills Mobility, he told THIIS that the refurbishment aimed to make the showroom more accessible to customers, creating a better shopping experience.

The company removed the internal walls, creating an open plan reception, office and showroom area.

“We felt that accessibility was the most important feature we could offer in our showroom,” explained Greg.

“Previously, we had two separate areas with a standard sized doorway, making manoeuvrability harder for our customers. By creating an open plan showroom, we have enabled customers to have the access to the products and sales desk that they require.”

In addition to creating a more open planned space, Mills Mobility also had the floors evened out and carpeted and installed accessible doors and repainted the showroom.

“We have had a level access, wide opening door installed, making entering and exiting the showroom easier and we also repainted the showroom in a bright white, making our products really stand out as customers enter,” he added.

Opening its doors in June 2017, the company sells, services and rents a range of mobility products and featured in THIIS’ June Retailer Spotlight.

Discussing the reaction from customers, Greg told THIIS: “Our customers have given some great feedback, especially our regular customers who have seen the changes at each step of the way as they have been coming in.

“They like how big it now feels, and how easily they can now see the items that we have in the showroom. The clean and modern feel of our showroom gives it a great professional look but we are really so pleased with how accessible it now is!”
