A manufacturer of bespoke seating solutions, Repose Furniture will be unveiling a range of new chairs at this year’s OT Show on stand C01.

Alongside these new product launches will be current models from the company’s range of healthcare chairs – the Boston, Harlem and Multi C-air. Visitors to the stand will also have the chance to win a Hotel Chocolat hamper worth £50 in the Repose selfie pod competition.

The Repose team will also be on hand to demonstrate the products on display, answer any questions, and to book assessments with occupational therapists and their clients.

Lisa Wardley, Managing Director of Repose, commented: “We are delighted to once again be exhibiting at the OT Show and unveiling the latest additions to our portfolio of seating solutions.

“Occupational Therapists are vital to us as a manufacturer and to have the opportunity to engage with so many and gain feedback on our latest product developments over the two days of the show is fantastic for us.”

Launched at last year’s event, the Boston Porter features new wing handles for ease of portering when the chair is occupied and the backrest reclined, and also a new double comfort lateral back cushion for support and comfort.

With a choice of either an electric or manual model, the Boston comes with standard features that include tilt-in-space, independent backrest recline and leg elevation, as well as a height and angle adjustable footplate, all of which are aimed at maximising postural management.

According to Repose, the Boston is ideally suited to being part of a client’s 24-hour pressure care management programme.  A range of interchangeable pressure management back and seat cushion options ensure that the correct comfort and posture choices can be made.

Kate Sheehan, Repose’s resident OT, said: “The Boston has been engineered to meet the needs of semi-ambulant and non-ambulant users with a range of additional support features to modify the chair to individual needs.”

In addition to the Boston Porter, the Harlem Porter Chair is designed for people with Huntington’s disease. It was developed in conjunction with Kate Sheehan and Mike Wooldridge, a specialist in caring for people with the disease. The chair is designed to be robust enough to absorb the involuntary movements which are associated with Huntington’s.

Available in small, medium and large, the Harlem Porter has a maximum user weight of 20 stone.  Standard features include an independent back rest recline with a range of angles and seat angle adjustments to reduce the risk of a patient falling out.

There is also a deep padded seat area for additional safety and comfort, a choice of six interchangeable back styles, and four different seat cushion options to accommodate different levels of comfort and pressure management. Further features include seat depth adjustment, high arms and a sliding padded footplate for ease of movement.

The Multi C-air electric rise recliner features a dynamic frame and design that, according to the company, offers a cost-effective solution to the changing demands of individual care requirements, efficiency and infection control.

This highly adjustable chair can be adapted to suit any individual’s changing needs due to a choice of six interchangeable back cushions and eight interchangeable pressure management seat cushion options. There is a choice of either single or dual tilt-in-space mechanisms with VAL technology, as well as adjustable seat depth and height.
