International trade fair Rehacare has announced a successful four days, with 50,600 visitors attending the event, its top number of visitors yet.

Taking place from the 26th-29th of September in Düsseldorf, Germany, 967 exhibitors from 42 countries attended Rehacare, which is a record-breaking number for the show. Additionally, around 9,000 professional visitors in distribution, importing and purchasing travelled to the rehabilitation and care event from foreign countries.

A representative poll showed that over 9 in 10 exhibitors were satisfied with how the event went and 83 percent said that the fair had already proved to be a business success as well. The survey also showed that 88 percent are expecting good follow-up business after the fair.

94 percent of visitors also reported that they were happy with Rehacare and what it had to offer.

Horst Giesen, Global Portfolio Director for Health and Medical Technologies at Messe Düsseldorf, commented: “Ensuring that people with disabilities, care needs and the elderly are active and independent so that they can manage their day-to-day routines is one of the most important questions of our time.

“The way that the population demographic has developed, the concomitant issues that it brings with it for care and the growing number of people affected in terms of autonomy and participation in society are driving the market to create and offer increasingly high-performance aids for almost every disability and target group.”

Rehacare gives exhibitors the opportunity to showcase their product innovations, which help elderly and disabled people remain independent, to end users, healthcare professionals and industry experts. Devices on display at this year’s show included walking aids, eye-controlled wheelchairs and exoskeletons.

The next Rehacare will take place in Düsseldorf from the 18th-21st of September 2019.
