Recare CPD sessions at OT ShowHealthcare equipment specialist Recare has partnered with affiliated company Rebotics Technology to explain the latest techniques and technology regarding patient mobility and rehabilitation during express on-stand CPD sessions at the Occupational Therapy (OT) Show 2024.

The OT Show takes place at Birmingham’s NEC from 27-28 November 2024 is a must-attend event for healthcare professionals wanting to network, learn, and discover the latest advancements in occupational therapy.

CPD sessions hosted by Munawar Osman, Clinical Orthotist and Training Manager on Stand B54 will take place at set times on both days.

The session ‘Unlocking mobility through exoskeletal technology‘ (10.15-10.30am) will introduce the Keeogo Exoskeleton, what is it, how it works, and how it can benefit patients and clinicians both in rehabilitation and personal use. We will also discuss the assessment procedure, as well as contraindications and considerations and where the device sits in terms of rehabilitation equipment.

Participants the session will get a basic understanding of the Keeogo and what type of patient it is targeted towards. They will also be better able to describe where the device sits in terms of personal rehabilitation, costs, and assessment process and understand from a clinical perspective how this would help OTs and patient’s rehabilitation.

The session ‘Empowering rehabilitation through advanced functional support‘ (11.30-11.45am) will introduce the Myopro device, how it works using EMG signals and how it helps a patient. The session will explain about the device and its components as well as discuss the patient profile, contraindications and considerations. It will also discuss how patient assessment works and how it can lead to a custom device.

Participants will get a basic understanding of the Myopro device, how it works and which type of patient it is targeted towards. Participants will be able to describe to patients, clinicians, and case managers where the device sits in terms of personal rehabilitation, costs and assessment process and understand from a clinical perspective how this would help OTs and patient’s rehabilitation.

The session ‘Advancing hand function restoration‘ (1.30-1.45pm) will introduce what the Regrasp device is, how it works and what it enables. The session will look at the device and its components as well as discuss the patient profile, contraindications and considerations. It will also touch upon patient assessment, limitations and benefits.

Participants will get a basic understanding of Regrasp and which type of patient it is targeted towards. They will be able to describe to patients, clinicians, and case managers where the device sits in terms of personal rehabilitation and understand from a clinical perspective how this would help with the patient’s rehabilitation, as well as the assessment process and key considerations.

The session ‘Empowering movement through technology‘ (2.30-2.45pm) will introduce the Syrebo C12 glove, how it works, indications and use, the various programs on the device as well as caveats and considerations.

Participants will get a basic understanding of the Syrebo glove and which type of patient it is targeted towards, as well as the components of the system. They will be able to describe to patients, clinicians, and case managers where the device sits in terms of personal rehabilitation and understand from a clinical perspective how this would help OTs and patient’s rehabilitation.
