Family-run rehabilitation and healthcare equipment specialist Recare has introduced its Ottobock Zenit wheelchair range to the UK market on a busy stand at Naidex 2022.

Oxfordshire-based Recare provides specialist equipment from leading international manufacturers for disabled adults and children. At Naidex this year, Recare once again partnered with its flagship brand Ottobock to showcase the latest wheelchairs, powerchairs and seating solutions from this world-class manufacturer. This impressive collection generated high levels of footfall on the stand with many visitors also keen to discover why the Zenit folding wheelchair represents an innovation in active independence.

New to the UK market, the Ottobock Zenit from Recare is a lightweight, active folding wheelchair that raises performance and comfort standards to a new level. Through advanced engineering and a minimal design, the Zenit is able to offer the propulsion efficiency of a rigid chair whilst offering the flexibility of folding.

Its patented ‘Easy-go’ system means in one quick movement the Zenit can be folded and reduced in size for transit in a car or compact storage. Both the aluminium and carbon fibre models deliver maximum stability and efficiency with numerous adjustment options to suit individual preferences.

Richard Holland-Oakes, Co-founder of Recare, commented: “It was fantastic to feel the buzz coming back to Naidex. Our team found the show rewarding on many levels and working alongside Ottobock once again proved advantageous for visitors seeking the very best in wheelchair design.”

Precision engineering and a high-quality finish enhance the superior Ottobock ergonomics and aesthetics which are respected worldwide. With a user’s centre of gravity finely tuned, movement and manoeuvrability are unsurpassed – ensuring hassle-free enablement and inclusion for all active lifestyles.

To celebrate the launch of the new Zenit in the UK, Ottobock ambassador Chris Rattenbury, para sportsman and ex-British para powerlifting champion, was presented with his new carbon fibre Zenit at the show.

Alongside the new Zenit, Recare demonstrated a range of additional Ottobock products including the outstanding Avant Garde 4 wheelchair and Juvo B5 and Wingus powerchairs. For paediatric clients the Kimba 2.0 Buggy and Bravl Racer were equally as popular with children and parents.

In addition to its products, Recare and Ottobock specialists demonstrated several of their clinical services and the technology behind bespoke seating solutions.

Recare is a provider of well-known brands such as Motion Composites wheelchairs, Benoit Systemes power add-on devices, Permobil powerchairs, PDG Mobility durable manual wheelchair products, and the Supracor Stimulite Honeycomb Cushions.

Last year, the mobility firm launched a new company called Rebotics Technology in coordination with Stephen Ruffle, who has over 20 years’ experience in the medical device industry. Rebotics Technology will focus on advanced products that assist and complement the rehabilitation process, enabling people to regain independence.
