Healthcare and rehabilitation equipment specialist Recare has announced the acquisition of SMART Wheelchairs and has pledged its continued support of customers.

Established by co-founders Tina and Richard Holland-Oakes, Recare is a supplier of assistive products in the UK that offers a customer-centric service that is clinically led and assessment focused.

The specialist wheelchair range and clinical expertise available from Recare, it says, has been furthered by the addition of SMART Wheelchairs.

Maxine Jose, Managing Director of SMART Wheelchairs felt it was time to retire and pass on the legacy of her late husband’s company to another family business that shares the same values that SMART Wheelchairs have created over the years.

SMART Wheelchairs is a niche, specialist brand supplying high end quality products, manual and powered wheelchairs including the high-end Evo range from Karma. Its range of wheelchairs is proven to provide utmost performance and client satisfaction.

Family-run Recare, which recently appointed Grant Turner as its in-house occupational therapist, has its headquarters in Witney, Oxfordshire, with an independent living showroom in Kettering. Its aim is to deliver clinically led provision of quality assistive equipment to assist individuals with restricted mobility.
