The original ‘Helping Hand’ reaching aid was launched in 1965, with the popular Arthri-Grip originally introduced in the 1990’s with the aim to make retrieving items easier without the need to bend or strain.

According to The Helping Hand Company, the Arthri-Grip was specifically developed to assist those with reduced hand dexterity no matter what their age. This also meant that even if the user had very little wrist strength they could pick up many items they previously couldn’t.

The assistive tool was then enhanced significantly in design and function in 2013. Changes included an improvement in the whole hand action trigger for easier use alongside the extremely helpful 90 degree rotating claw to lift a wider range of items out of reach.

Mitch Preedy, Commercial Manager at The Helping Hand Company, commented to THIIS: “We were very happy with the work Ellen did showcasing two of our products from the Helping Hand Range. The speed they sold out was really impressive, which is why I am sure that won’t be the last you’ll see of our Independent Living Range on QVC.
