Quantum Stretto
Powerchair specialist Quantum Rehab has said that it has received a excellent response from customers to its Edge 3 Stretto, a new model which it claims is the “perfect indoor-outdoor chair” due to its narrow width and other unique features.

The Pride Quantum Edge 3 Stretto is based on the Edge 3, and features an extra narrow total width for manoeuvrability with Smooth Ride Suspension (SRS) and captain’s seating, for a comfortable ride with advanced stability.

Kevin Atkins, Senior Quantum Sales Manager told THIIS: “The Edge 3 Stretto has quickly become one of the most well received powerchairs for Quantum Rehab. It is without doubt one of the most stable narrow base powerchairs on the market today.

“With 62 ah batteries, and SRS suspension, it is fast becoming the ‘go to’ chair for many of our customers. The addition of the captain’s seat brings another level to the extensive seating options on the Edge 3 Stretto.”

Optional iLevel is also available, the manufacturer confirms, which allows the chair to remain stable up to 4.5mph while the seat is in the fully elevated position, with up to 30cm (12 inches) of power adjustable seat height.

Standard features include LED fender lights, a USB charger, and drive wheel colour accents. Available in 17 colour options, the Stretto is available with a TRU-Balance 3 power seat, which offers 50 degrees of powered seat tilt with centre of gravity conservation and 175 degrees of powered seat recline with adjustable sheer reduction.

The Stretto’s mid-wheel drive layout allows for an extremely tight turning circle and excellent stability, making it well suited to both compact indoor locations and outdoor driving. Meanwhile, 55Ah of onboard batteries allow for a range of 27km (16 miles).

The model is available with seat sizes suitable for both children and adults. Designed to fit into the smallest of spaces, the Stretto boasts a 20.5 inch overall width, allowing it work well indoors.

The centre spine design allows for independent depth adjustment on the seating system for the fine-tuning to make allowance for the different back systems that may be mounted to the spine.

The backup camera offers two modes: the camera is on always or the camera turns on with a reverse command. Infared capabilities allow for use at night and the camera can be retrofitted onto existing power chairs using Q-Logic 3.

This latest release from Quantum continues the manufacturers push to innovative. Established in 2000 by American mobility manufacturing giant Pride Mobility, Quantum Rehab was created with the specific aim of addressing more complex mobility and rehabilitation needs, competing in the vibrant high-end powerchair market.

Back in September 2018, the company released its popular Edge 3 powerchair, boasting a number of features that helped distinguish itself in the competitive segment, including its enhanced 4.5mph iLevel innovation, patented Extra Stability Technology, upgraded SRS (Smooth Ride Suspension) and Interactive Assist capability.

In May 2019, the company then confirmed that it was working on a slightly smaller version – the Edge 3 Stretto – that would be suitable for indoor use, but still with great outdoors capabilities.
