PROCare teamPROCare has been named Supply Chain Partner of the Year at the Northern Housing Awards, recognising its role in helping housing providers improve adaptation delivery, strengthen resident outcomes and create more efficient, integrated supply chains.

The award recognises PROCare’s approach to working as an embedded delivery partner rather than a traditional supplier, supporting housing associations and local authorities through specialist surveying, specification support, manufacturing, logistics and ongoing service delivery.

The Wigan based business, which supports more than 20,000 bathroom, wetroom and adapted kitchen projects annually and carries out around 15,000 specialist surveys each year, says the award reflects a growing shift in how suppliers contribute across the housing sector.

Claire Smalley, Executive Operations Manager at PROCare, said: “This award is hugely important to us because it recognises partnership and the work that happens behind the scenes to help residents receive the right adaptations at the right time.

“Increasingly, housing providers are looking for more than product supply. They need partners who can reduce delays, simplify delivery and support better long term outcomes for residents.

“Our focus has always been on becoming part of the delivery process rather than sitting outside it.”

PROCare’s model includes national OT led surveying, in house manufacturing, integrated logistics, one order one invoice procurement and next day delivery support. The business says this approach helps remove unnecessary redesign, improve communication and reduce disruption across programmes.

A key example highlighted during judging involved a housing provider facing a backlog of more than 300 adaptation surveys. PROCare deployed a rapid response programme, digitally capturing technical information across properties within weeks. The approach reduced waiting times by more than six months and allowed contractors to plan more effectively.

The company says growing housing pressures around ageing populations, delayed hospital discharge and adaptation demand are creating a need for more integrated approaches across the sector.

Emma Imhof, Commercial Manager at PROCare said: “Housing providers are under pressure to deliver more with fewer resources while also supporting an ageing population and improving resident wellbeing. The answer is not simply faster supply.

“It is stronger collaboration, earlier involvement and creating systems that work better across the entire journey. The most successful partnerships are the ones where everyone shares responsibility for the outcome.”

The judging process also recognised PROCare’s investment in digital systems and traceability, helping strengthen asset management and improve programme visibility for housing providers.

Alongside its operational work, PROCare continues to support future focused housing initiatives through its Fit For Our Future campaign, which encourages earlier intervention and more proactive approaches to accessible housing delivery.
