PROCare wins award recognition for its impact on delivering accessible adaptations

PROCare Wetroom & Bathroom Specialists has been recognised with two awards for its impact on delivering accessible adaptations at scale across social housing at the 2026 Efficiency East Midlands Building Communities Awards.
The ‘Supplier of the Year’ and ‘Innovative Solution of the Year’ awards reflect PROCare’s role as a delivery partner to social housing providers, helping to improve the speed, consistency and quality of bathroom adaptations while supporting better outcomes for residents.
PROCare supports more than 20,000 installations each year across the UK, combining in-house manufacturing, national OT-led surveys, design support and next-day logistics.
This model has been developed in response to the complexities of delivering adaptations across housing, occupational therapy and local authorities, where coordination and process can impact how quickly support reaches residents.
In one recent project, PROCare supported a housing provider to assess and quote over 300 adaptation cases within weeks, reducing waiting times by more than six months and enabling faster delivery of safer, accessible bathrooms.
This aligns with UK research into bathing adaptations, including the BATH-OUT study, which shows that timely adaptations improve independence, reduce fear of falling and support better physical and mental wellbeing.
PROCare’s ‘Innovative Solution of the Year’ award recognises its ‘Fit For Our Future’ approach – embedding accessibility into homes from the outset, rather than relying on reactive retrofit.
This includes practical solutions such as dual-purpose grab rails through Invisible Creations® and Zenith toilets, designed to support accessibility while minimising disruption.
PROCare’s ‘Supplier of the Year’ award reflects its long-term partnerships and consistent delivery across the sector.
Martin Spence, Property Improvement Manager at Housing21, said: “Housing 21 have worked with PROCare Ltd for many years, and the strength of our relationship is built on trust, consistency, and shared values.
“As a family-run business, PROCare brings a personal touch to everything they do—something that’s increasingly rare and deeply appreciated in retirement living.
“PROCare are a trusted partner who share our commitment to quality, accountability, and resident satisfaction.”
Brian Lee, Managing Director at PROCare, added: “These awards reflect the way we work with our customers — not just supplying products, but supporting delivery from start to finish.
“By working closely with housing providers, occupational therapists and contractors, we help make sure adaptations are delivered efficiently, consistently and in a way that genuinely works for residents.”
As demand for accessible housing continues to rise, PROCare is focused on supporting housing providers to move from reactive adaptations to proactive, planned delivery.
By simplifying processes, improving coordination and embedding accessibility earlier, the aim is to reduce pressure on services while ensuring residents can live safely, independently and with dignity in their own homes.
For 25 years PROCare has manufactured and supplied wet rooms, adapted bathrooms and adaptive kitchens while supporting social housing providers, housing associations, occupational therapists and contractors with every aspect of delivery. PROCare significantly expanded its operational capacity in 2025.
