Procare eventAccessible bathroom and adaptations specialist PROCare will host its next CPD and product learning day on home adaptations in Durham on 10 June 2025.

The free event will be hosted at the Ramside Hall Hotel by PROCare’s regional representative Rachel Ellis, who is looking forward to welcoming attendees from across the region.

Bringing together housing professionals, local authorities and care providers from across the northeast, the day will include practical demonstrations and discussions around innovative solutions from PROCare and leading partner manufacturers.

“We’re really excited to bring this event to Durham,” said Rachel Ellis. “It’s a chance for local authorities and professionals to see what’s possible when we rethink how we approach adaptations. It’s not just about products; it’s about improving quality of life for the people who live with them every day.”

The event forms part of a wider programme designed to support housing professionals in delivering smarter, more effective adaptations. PROCare is currently working with local authorities across the UK to reduce waiting lists, accelerate the delivery of Disabled Facilities Grant-funded works and improve resident outcomes.Procare event

At this year’s DFG Champion Roadshow events, PROCare demonstrated how a future-proofed, stylish wetroom could be delivered for less than the cost of a standard level-access shower. This approach supports housing providers in delivering safer, more comfortable homes that are built to meet both current and future needs.

Each CPD day offers hands-on access to new technologies and product innovations, including wash-dry toilets, Bluetooth-enabled waste pumps, dementia-friendly flooring and height-adjustable bathroom and kitchen solutions. The aim is to challenge outdated assumptions about accessible living and demonstrate the possibilities of universal design.

According to the Centre for Ageing Better, more than one million people in the UK are living in homes that do not meet their accessibility needs. This lack of suitable housing contributes to delays in hospital discharge, increased admissions, and pressure on social care systems.

The Durham event follows the successful CPD and product learning day held earlier this year in Southampton – an event that brought together professionals from across the south to explore the latest advancements in accessible design.

PROCare invites housing professionals to register here for the Durham event and to sign up for updates on future CPD and learning sessions.

Based in a 75,000 square foot facility in Wigan, PROCare supports housing providers across the UK with a full range of accessible products and solutions, from wet rooms to accessible bathrooms and kitchens. Recently, Procare was awarded for Best Resident Safety Initiative at the 2025 Northern Housing Awards.
