Prism Medical UK rounds off busy 2019 with acquisition of Harvest Healthcare
Marking its third acquisition of 2019, Prism Medical UK (Prism) has confirmed it has acquired Rotherham-based Harvest Healthcare, expanding Prism’s product and service offering, along with its customer base in the long-term care sector.
Established in 2010, the South Yorkshire-based manufactures, distributes, rents and services a range of healthcare equipment including pressure care products such as the Woburn profiling beds, static and active mattresses and cushions, as well as moving and handling equipment.
Boasting a strong reputation for its national services and an established customer base of long-term care companies and Local Authorities, the acquisition comes almost a year on from Harvest’s MD Neil Davis acquiring all of the shares in the company from founders Phil and Jim Hutchinson.
“I am proud to have the opportunity to lead Harvest forward into this exciting new era, and to continue the positive development of our company. Our focus will always be to work in long-term partnerships with our customers and suppliers, to support the delivery of exceptional resident and patient care, at an affordable price, and to try to make everyone’s lives a little easier,” commented Neil Davis, Managing Director of Harvest.
“I really enjoy working with the fantastic people in this industry, and am very happy that our new ownership structure will help us to continue our successful growth, to the shared benefit of our customers, our staff, and our supply chain partners.”
According to Prism, the acquisition of Harvest will substantially increase the Group’s reach into care homes, hospitals and the community, key customer segments for its growing product portfolio and service offering.
Prism has confirmed that Harvest will continue to operate as a standalone company within the Group.
Stuart Meldrum, Chief Executive of Prism Medical, said: “I am delighted that Harvest has joined the Prism Group. Neil and the team have always focussed on providing the best service to their customers and with Neil continuing as Managing Director of Harvest this focus will continue into the future. Together we can provide even more value to our customers.”
The acquisition is the third of 2019 as Prism returned to the acquisition trail following its acquisition by private equity company Limerston Capital in December 2018.
Since its acquisition, Prism has been busy buying a number of companies located largely in the North, with patient lifting and bathing supplier Assured Healthcare (Scotland) in June 2019 and County Durham-based moving and handling manufacturer Care-ability Healthcare a month later in July.
