Precision Rehab

Precision Rehab has stated that it will be following a range of COVID-secure procedures for customers following the UK Government’s announcement that it is getting tougher in the fight against COVID-19 with the introduction of a stricter fourth tier.

With many customers returning to shielding, self-isolating or continuing to do so, the mobility equipment provider has stated that it will continue to offer all of its services – including assessments, servicing, repairs, parts supply and deliveries – following government guidelines.

Founded five years ago by Matt James and his wife Emma, Precision Rehab has steadily been carving out its place in the mobility sector. An established provider of bespoke powerchairs to meet complex needs, the company recently signed an agreement to become the exclusive distributor of US-based TrackMaster’s range of all-terrain powerchairs for the UK and Ireland.

The provider has stated that it aims to continue to offer the options of visits and services in a COVID-secure way. In a statement, the provider confirmed that home assessments and deliveries will be carried out as normal using the appropriate PPE and social distancing.

Staff, it says, will check their temperature before starting the day and will wear nitrile gloves and a face mask. Contact with customers will be kept to a minimum and all products will be deep cleaned before and after visits.

The mobility provider will also offer contactless assessments, repairs, and servicing, with staff always calling the client on arrival. The company has stated that it will leave the product at the front door or an agreed safe place and then wait for a carer or parent to collect it. It will then carry out any services from a two-metre distance.

Products will be thoroughly sanitised before and after the services have been carried out, it says, and will be left at the front door, after which an engineer will then call and wait for the product to be collected.

Virtual assessments will also be offered without the need to visit, the company has stated. These will be completed using phone consultation and customer fact finding forms, with basic measurements and client photos taken while the customer is seated in their existing product from the front, rear and both sides.

Information from virtual assessments will be emailed to the company’s assessment team, who produce a report and quotation for the appropriate product that will be subject to full and final assessment once it is safe to do so. The virtual service, it says, will enable clients, case managers and other professionals to start the process of seeking funding without delay.

A spokesman for Precision Rehab said: “Our staff whenever possible will be working from home to minimise contact in line with the government guidance but we can assure our clients that this will not impact our administration services.”
